Primary school students are provided S$1 a day and Secondary school students at S$1.50 a day. Once the funds are made available through donations from the public, students are sponsored throughout the academic year.
In 2009, Student Advisory Centre's Lunch Box has given awayS$469, 613 to children from lower income families in 81 schools around Singapore.
These children come from families with a household income of less than S$1,500 or less than S$450 per capita household income.
Student Advisory Centre works closely with school welfare officers and teachers to identify the children who require support for Lunch Box Funds.
Having a good lunch will provide these children with the energy to focus in school and grant them with an equal opportunity to progress out of poverty.
